If you read Part 1 (http://www.djweis.com/adventures-in-importing/) you would see my excitement for locating, importing, and selling products sourced overseas.
It’s harder than I expected. Amazon does a great job monitoring your sales and letting you know when you are spending too much money warehousing products with them. The emails they send can be interpreted as a helpful notice of changes to make or a constant reminder of you buying too many lunch totes. I was glass half full and after many months letting me know I was overstocked with them by many hundreds of percent I put in an order to have them send back most of my remaining inventory.
I did leave a few in case a parent was in a pinch and needed a lunch tote in a pinch. I learned that it does make sense to do more of the basic target market research before ordering product.
PS – Does anyone want a hundred lunch totes?
